20 secondary school and high-school teachers attended the 2.5 day training course in Bad Wildbad. They were introduced to basic concepts of nanotechnology and experimented in the school laboratory. The experiments of the \u201cSimplyNano 1\u00ae\u201d experimental kit were presented. The participants also had the opportunity to produce a liquid crystal thermometer and also to experiment with ferrofluids (magnetic liquids). The course was funded by the ministry of education and the chemical associations of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. The course was free of charge for the participants and they all could take a free \u201cSimplyNano 1\u00ae\u201d kit home for their classes.<\/p>\n
The next course will take place on the 27th<\/sup> of June at the Geschwister-Scholl high-school<\/a> in Mannheim.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The course will enable teachers to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge on nanotechnology and teaching of nanotechnology. It allows teachers to offer intriguing and practical tuition to their students. Among other descriptive teaching materials like the Swiss Nano-Cube teaching modules, the \u201eSimplyNano 1\u00ae<\/sup>\u201c experimental kit will be employed.
