They were developed by the Innovation Society, St. Gallen, in close collaboration with the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry (BG RCI). The \u201cNanorama Lab\u201d offers in-depth insights into the safe handling of nanomaterials and installations used to manufacture or process nanomaterials in laboratories. Complementary to hazard evaluation assessments, it enables users to assess the occupational exposure to nanomaterials and to identify necessary protective measures when handling said materials in laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abDue to the attractive visual implementation and the interactive contents, the \u201eNanorama Lab\u201c offers a great introduction to protective measures in laboratories \u00bb, says Dr. Thomas H. Brock, Head of the Expert Committee on Hazardous Substances of the BG RCI. The \u201cNanorama Lab\u201d inspires curiosity in users and instigates them to reflect on the conditions in their respective workplaces. \u00abBy exploring the \u201cNanorama Lab\u201d, laboratory staff actively deals with occupational health and safety in laboratories and its practical implementation with regard to nanomaterials.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201eNanoramas\u201c \u2013 Multipurpose E-Learning Tools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presenting the \u201eNanorama Lab\u201c, the DGUV again harnesses the interactive E-Learning tool \u201cNanorama\u201d developed by The Innovation Society, St. Gallen. A \u201cNanorama\u201d \u2013 a lexical blend of \u201cNano\u201d and \u201cPanorama\u201d, \u2013 is a novel 360\u00b0-E-learning module in which the user enters a virtual space and moves around in it. By completing a \u201cNanorama\u201d, users acquire knowledge in an entertaining manner. \u201cNanoramas\u201d can be applied in many areas of education and communication.<\/p>\n<p>The first module of the Nano-Platform, the \u201cNanorama Construction\u201d, can be visited on http:\/\/nano.dguv.de\/nanorama\/bgbau\/. It offers insights into the use and applications of nanomaterials in the construction industry and will soon be followed by the \u201cNanorama Metal\u201d. Additionally, the Nano-Platform can be expanded with further \u201cNanorama\u201d-modules on any given sector or trade thanks to its modular design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Nano-Platform \u201eSafe Handling of Nanomaterials\u201c<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Nano-Platform \u201cSafe Handling of Nanomaterials\u201d offers up-to-date information on occupational health and safety and novel, interactive E-learning tools, so-called \u201cNanoramas\u201d.
