A guest at Schindler AG<\/strong><\/p>\n

Around twenty teachers from Central Switzerland took part in the introductory course on SimplyNano2 learning media on January 22. The half-day training course took place at Schindler AG in Ebikon. Schindler is a global leader in the manufacture of elevators and escalators. True to its motto \u201cWe Elevate\u201d, Schindler transports 2 billion people every day. The Group employs more than 70,000 people in over 100 countries worldwide. In Switzerland, there are over 4,000 employees. Among them are 300 apprentices who are being trained in ten technical or commercial professions. These apprentices are an important resource for the company. \u201cAt Schindler, we therefore offer an innovative, learning-friendly and safe learning environment with individual development opportunities,\u201d explained Erika Neumann, Head of Schindler Vocational Training, in her presentation.<\/p>\n

Fascinating nano experiments<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many things in our everyday lives contain nanotechnology. Be it plastics, surface coatings or textiles. However, the \u201cnanos\u201d are not visible to the naked eye. This makes the exciting and practical SimplyNano experiments all the more interesting for arousing interest in the smallest particles and their secrets. In the main part of the course, the teachers were able to try out the nano experiments themselves and test the learning materials. The experiments generated enthusiasm and wow-effects. The experiments with a high relevance to everyday life, such as the diaper experiment with the highly absorbent nanomaterial or the sticky effect of the gecko, were particularly well received. The participants positively emphasized that the course was very practice-oriented and that the materials could be used \u201cready-made\u201d directly in the classroom.<\/p>\n

Free suitcases thanks to broad support<\/strong><\/p>\n

The experimental kits and courses are available to schools free of charge. The project is financed by a broad sponsorship of over\u00a0forty partners<\/a>. The SimplyNano 2 project is already running nationwide in 16 cantons. From fall 2025, the SimplyNano suitcases will also be used in the cantons of Bern, Fribourg and Schaffhausen. The aim is to use the experimental kits throughout German-speaking Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The SimplyNano project was recently hosted by Schindler AG. Teachers from Central Switzerland were able to get to know and experiment with the teaching material. They were given an insight into vocational training at the world\u2019s leading lift manufacturer.
