EPA sucht Teilnehmer für ihr freiwilliges Daten-Reporting Programm
Am 20. Mai 2006 verkündete die Amerikanische Umweltschutzbehörde (EPA), dass sie die Diskussion über die Prüfung von Nanomaterialien im Rahmen des Nanoscale Stewardship Program (NMSP) initiieren möchte. Beim NMSP können Unternehmen, die Nanomaterialien kommerziell herstellen, importieren oder verarbeiten, freiwillig Informationen an die EPA übermitteln und auch an der Erarbeitung von zusätzlichen Daten teilnehmen. To date, EPA has received three submissions for nanoscale materials under the basic program. EPA has also received commitments from ten additional companies to submit data on nanoscale materials under the basic program. Thus far, no one has signed up to participate in the in-depth portion of the NMSP, however. EPA encourages anyone interested in starting this dialogue to contact it.
Submissions under the NMSP basic program include:
- Dupont;
- Office ZPI; and
- One additional confidential submission.
Ten additional companies have committed to submit information under the NMSP basic program:
- BASF Corporation;
- Bayer Material Science;
- Dow Chemical;
- Evonik/Degussa;
- General Electric;
- Nanocyl North America;
- Nanophase Technologies Corporation;
- PPG Industries;
- Sasol North America; and
- Strem Chemicals.
