IOMC/OECD/UNITAR Awareness-Raising Workshop for Developing and Transition Countries on Manufactured Nanomaterials
OECD and UNITAR will hold Awareness-Raising Workshops for Developing and Transition Countries on Nanotechnology/Manufactured Nanomaterials including the topics of risks of manufactured nanomaterials.
According to the OECD webpage, these workshops will be held under the auspices of the IOMC following their request for action regarding nanotechnologies and nanomaterials. These workshops will inform on potential applications and risks from nanotechnologies and manufactured nanomaterials and look for opportunities for awareness raising activities to be undertaken in those countries.
The workshops will be held in conjunction with SAICM during the UN regional meetings during 2009-2010.
IOMC is the Inter-Organizational Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals.
SAICM is the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management.
