Nanorama-Versions now available for tablets and smartphones

The DGUV Nano-Portal contains aside from exhaustive information material also interactive 360°-Nanoramas, which depict standards for a safe work environment with nanomaterials in different job fields. These applications have now been optimised for use on mobile devices (tablets, smartphones). This allows the nanoramas to be used “on site” during training, without the need for a computer or laptop.

Nano materials are found in many industrial products and processes. Several construction materials, paint or plastics contain nano materials that are supposed to enhance the properties of those products. To demonstrate and ensure a safe handling of those nano materials in different work situations and industries, five interactive nanoramas (production EN/DE, laboratory EN/DE, textile DE, car workshop DE, construction DE) have been developed and can be used online. In a photo-realistic 360-degree-panorama, products with nano materials can be identified, necessary precautions recognised and questions about exposition answered.

Up until now, the various nanoramas were only accessible through a webbrowser. To warrant the usage of the nanoramas on tablets and smartphones as well, the coding has been refined. Now, the nanoramas can be experienced without access to a desktop with laptop or PC and can be used on site for instructions and training. With that, we hope for an increasing use of the nanoramas in the field and for educational purposes during company training.
