New publication: How insurers can handle nano-risks
Nanotechnologies and nanomaterials are now widely used in all industries. No major damages are known to this date. However, burning lithium ion batteries and exploding Samsung devices make it clear that the application of nanotechnology in mass products holds a considerable damage potential. Since nanomaterials are implicitly co-insured in liability insurance policies, insurers must check whether and to what extent they deal with hidden nano-risks. A new "risk monitoring" tool helps in the early detection and evaluation of such risks.
