Secondary schools in the canton of Schwyz receive 200 experimental kit

With the introduction of the SimplyNano 2 learning medium in the canton of Schwyz, a further step was taken to bring the SimplyNano 2 experimental kits and the learning workshop into schools. The canton of Schwyz is now the tenth canton in Switzerland in which the learning medium is being used nationwide. The project was successfully completed in August. A detailed final report is available here.

33 teachers participate in three further training courses

In the canton of Schwyz, three further education courses were held in different companies. 33 teachers took part in the courses. On the one hand, the teachers were able to get a taste of "corporate air" at the companies and on the other hand, they were able to maintain contact with professional colleagues. In addition to the nano-experiments, the courses have proven to be a valuable "bridge" between schools and the professional world, as well as a platform for exchange between apprentice trainers and teachers.

The project started in May 2023 with the first continuing education course at Victorinox AG in Schwyz. The project was completed after two further well-attended courses at Garaventa AG in Goldau and Verwo AG in Reichenburg. The SimplyNano experimental kits were sent out in August 2023. A total of 200 experiment kits were distributed free of charge to 17 secondary schools in the canton of Schwyz.

Schwyz project as an impetus for another project in Central Switzerland

With the completion of the project in the canton of Schwyz, the SimplyNano experiment kits are now in use in 10 cantons. Since 2018, 406 schools have been equipped with around 3,730 suitcases. In addition, 43 further training courses have taken place with 513 teachers.

Due to the very positive feedback, another SimplyNano project is currently being initiated for Central Switzerland. It is to be launched in the cantons of LU, ZG, NW, OW, UR and GL.

The project in the canton of Schwyz was fully funded by the Asuera Foundation and the Dimitris N. Chorafas Foundation. Thanks to the great financial support, all the experimental kits and also the further training courses for the teachers could be offered free of charge.
